Tuition & Funding Support

A welcoming path into a meaningful career

Starting a new career is a big decision—but you don’t have to take the first step alone. At Northwood Career College, we want every student to feel confident, supported, and fully informed as they explore the Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) profession.

Canada’s need for CCAs has never been greater. As the Maritime population ages, more individuals will require daily support in long-term care, home care, and residential care settings. Between 2022 and 2031, more than 191,000 new CCA job openings are expected across the country. That means strong job security, meaningful work, and a clear pathway into a career that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

Whether you’re just beginning your healthcare journey or looking for a fresh start, our goal is to help you begin with clarity—and without unnecessary financial barriers.

Government Funding: Your Program Could Be Fully Covered

Becoming a Continuing Care Assistant has never been more accessible. Through a Government of Nova Scotia initiative, students in approved CCA programs may be eligible to have their full tuition covered.

Depending on your individual circumstances, additional financial supports may also be available, including:

  • Textbook and learning materials support

  • Transportation assistance

  • Childcare support

  • Living allowance support

For many students, this means training for a career in healthcare with little to no cost out of pocket.

If you want to explore these options, our team is here to guide you every step of the way. Just reach out—or submit an application—and we’ll walk you through everything you need to know.

Note: Funding is available through a provincial initiative and may be time-limited. Eligibility is determined by the Government of Nova Scotia. Learn more at novascotia.ca/become-continuing-care-assistant.
