Why Northwood
What started as the vision of one man in 1962 has grown into the largest and most respected not-for-profit continuing care organization in eastern Canada.
Northwood has been at the forefront of innovation in continuing care for six decades, pioneering the concept for homecare services in Nova Scotia . It introduced a personal emergency response service called Intouch and an Adult Day program to support clients and families dealing with Alzheimer’s disease.
Our Mental Health program, Seeds of Success, supports both residents in Care and tenants in Retirement Living, and our Dementia program is supported by our newly renovated Fitness Centre.
Northwood continues to focus on healthcare innovation.
